Annual calendar


  • Annual Pilgrimage: Every 20th of January, hundreds of walkers accompany the father pilgrim from Tossa de Mar in his journey to the church of Sant Sebastià in Santa Coloma de Farners. This is done to fulfill the vow that the town of Tossa made in the 16th century to free themselves from the plague. 


  • Aplec de la Sardana: Santa Coloma is a town with a long history of sardanes and on the last Sunday of April, each year, the town hosts the Aplec de la Sardana in the Park of Sant Salvador. 
  • Sant Jordi: On the 23rd of april.


  • Ratafia Herb Market: Coinciding with the first weekend of may, every year takes place the market of the ratafia herbs, which kicks off the ratafia season. Also during the same weekend, and since 1953, a flower contest-exhibition has been held. 
  • Catalan Revolt Festival: This festivity is held in order to remember the historical events that took place in Santa Coloma de Farners when the town rose against the troops of Felipe IV. During the day different ludic as well as informative activities are organized.


  • Pa amb Tomàquet festival: This festivity takes place each year during the first weekend of June, and it was created to add value to the traditions surrounding three of the biggest components of the Catalan cuisine: bread, olive oil and tomatoes. 


  • Festa Major: It is celebrated during the 24th of September in honor of the day in which the saint from Santa Coloma, Dalmau Moner, died. The cultural activities are programmed during the closest weekend to this date. 


  • Festa de la Ratafia: This festivity is held during the second weekend of the month of November, and it was started during 1984 by a group of young people from the town. Nowadays, it's consolidated as one of the most important cultural and ethnographic exhibitions of the Catalan territory.
