Old parochial church, probably romanesque.

5 km from Santa Coloma we will find the neighbourhood of Castanyet. It can be reached by paved road, following the Castanyet stream, that continues in the form of a trail to Sant Hilari Sacalm, passing Espinau and Sobirá.

The Sant Andreu de Castanyet hermitage was already mentioned in the XIII century. It is therefore considered to be of romanesque origin, although it remains masked by the fact that it is not pure. It has one single nave with a semicircular apse. The bell tower is on the northern side, with a square tower and pyramidal roof, as well as the added annex of the sacristy.

The rectory is attached to the Western side. This is a XIII century building, which has now been restored and converted into a summer camp house.

It is part of the Trail of the 10 Hermitages.

Practical information: can be visited. The church will remain closed except for when mass is celebrated.
