Sant Pere Vell Trail

This route joins the small chapel of Farners  with the hill of el Far or Sant Pere Vell, located between Sant Pere Cercada and Argimon.

The highest point of this itinerary is the hill of el Far, located at 567 meters above sea level, and where we can find  the remaining of the tower of el Far, a fortified tower built during the time of the Muslim domain. This route also passes through the observation point of the Abellera rock, can Canaleta and can Gorgals Nou. The descent is via another route that passes through Can Gorgals Vell until you join the outgoing track that will take you to Farners.

An old legend says that the old Sant Pere monastery used to be on top of this hill, until it was destroyed by the devil. Where he threw the stones, the Sant Pere Cercada monastery was built and this is why they gave it the name of Sant Pere Vell.
